What Is Global Year?

A gap year ministry equipping and mobilizing young people to the nations with the Gospel. Challenging young people to take one year, immerse themselves into another culture, learn another language and grow in their walk with Christ.

Why A Gap Year?

We have an issue!

This represents the average number of young people this year that will abandon their faith in some way after high school. To make this real, if you have a youth group of 100 students this means 75 of them will leave their faith and it will no longer be important to them.

This is the heart behind Global Year. We want to equip the next generation with a Global Year that invest in their discipleship journey, launching them into a lifetime of making disciples & following Jesus, not just a moment in in time in their life.

My role at Global Year

I serve as a in-country discipleship director and Mobilizer (outreach recruiter). I am a support raised staff member and get the great privilege of having a support team that partners with me in and through the work of Global Year.

I work with our students going on a gap year. I get to train & disciple these young men and women as they step into their Global Year. My goal is to prepare them for their gap year but most importantly lead them into being disciple makers (Matthew 28:18-20). It is my focus to disciple students to become devoted followers of Christ for a lifetime.

My role is 3 fold, discipleship training before their trip, during their trip being a liaison in-country for their parents and them, Finally after their gap year helping them step into what is next. I also get the great privilege of being a mobilizer. This is after we have sent students! I get to transition a little bit and focus on speaking events and networking with local churches, youth pastors etc. I work to serve them in their ministry as a ministry partner who supports them prayerfully, filling in as a speaker for youth nights and holding events at their church or organization to share the Gospel & Global Year. We hope to connect with other ministries first and foremost to help continue the spread of the kingdom and then be an option as a ministry opportunity for their young people.
